Illinois Christian Communicators Sponsored Tournaments

In 2005, NCFCA is moving to a "Regional" model for qualifying for nationals.  Illinois is a mamber of NCFCA region 6 and will be participating in this model for national qualification.  The model is an attempt to promote the skills of speech and debate and remove the focus from solely qualifying for a national tournament.  In doing this, the nation has been divided into 10 regions with each region being responsible for allocating the majority of the nationals slots.  Students participate in "Pre-Regional" Qualifying Tournaments throughout their region.  Students who place high enough (typically requiring breaking to outrounds) qualify to compete at the regional.  The region is allocated a specific number of nationals slots in each even and the winners of the regional championship tournament advance to nationals.
